It has come to my attention that, over the last year or so, I have created a driving playlist that I am quite proud of. Now, I am of the school of thought that a car that makes some beautiful noises doesn't even need a radio. I doubt many here would disagree with that. However, this playlist is called "Midnight Drives" and is for just that. Sometimes we can get as much out of a late night cruise as we can from a spirited drive during the day. I was wondering if anyone else has a driving playlist they are proud of and, if so, what's on it. A portion of mine is as follows. It should give you a good feeling as to what mine is made up of.

Thats just a handful of songs off of Midnight Drives, and I admit its influences by the soundtrack from the movie, Drive.
So, what's on yours?

the only playlist I have is for blasting down the coast, otherwise I'd prefer whole albums for the commute or chilling out. M83's Saturdays = Youth is on heavy rotation for that.
my
spirited driving
playlist includes in no particular order.
Clutch - Subtle Hustle
Red Fang - Wires
Gay Paris - Ash Wednesday Boudoir Party
Mastodon - Blood and Thunder
Fugazi - Waiting Room
Descendents - Van

Based on that list, I like you. I have a good amount of old school hip-hop with some newer stuff mixed in in a couple of my playlists. I've never heard of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones or 7m3. I'll have to check them out.

Saturdays = Youth is a great cruising/mellow driving playlist. I feel like your spirited driving playlist would get me a ticket very, very quickly. Especially once Subtle Hustle came on.

Haha, Thanks! I mix things up a lot, keeps it interesting, the rest of my music is about the same.

The mountain pass down to the coast is pretty full on even at the speed limit, no use speeding because you'll just get stuck behind a caravan.
Though that doesn't mean I can't hit every Apex
at
the speed limit.

Mine is fairly eclectic right now. Some upbeat poppy stuff, random metal, and 80s stuff. Here are the next 5 songs with it on random:
Zapp & Roger - More Bounce to the Ounce
Lionel Richie - All Night Long
I usually listen to talk radio during the commute though.

There are very few types of talk radio that I can stand for more than a few minutes, unless its artist interviews or something along those lines. But, for whatever reason, I have no problem listening to the news on the TV without actually watching it... I don't know. But usually I just put my iPhone on shuffle and listen to whatever pops up. Variety is always good, but driving around my empty town at 11:30 or later, I definitely need a certain mood. Ahaha.

Should share the full playlist on spotify. or just list the entire thing. I like chill music like this sometimes.
